Peak Ventures is looking for a machine learning engineer / data scientist to join our team. This is an individual contributor role focused on driving research and development of new cutting-edge ML and AI capabilities that power dynamic content decisioning for one of the biggest real-time acquisition marketing platforms in the world.
The ideal candidate will have some experience designing, developing, and deploying state-of-the-art ML algorithms into production systems; big plus is experience with algos for search, recommendations, and advanced content personalization. You should keep up with the latest advancements and best practices. You should have strong engineering skills. Additionally, we are looking for strong SQL and data analysis skills.

Your Role
- Apply advanced data analytics and visualization to empower our business and product.
- Hands-on development of algorithms based on state-of-the-art machine learning models to build products delivering new recommendations, search, personalization, yield optimization and dynamic content decisioning capabilities.
- Leverage knowledge of software engineering principles to develop and deploy production machine learning solutions that can scale to millions of requests per second with milliseconds latency.
- Work with cross-functional teams of engineers, scientists, and analysts, to devise implementation and experimentation strategies.
- Utilize broad and deep knowledge of machine learning to contribute to the development of Peak Ventures’ roadmap for core data science and machine learning capabilities.
- Collaborate with Business, Product and other experts based in LA (expect at least 3 days a week overlap with LA time-zone - eg. 18:00-20:00 CET).
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor's degree (Master's or Ph.D preferred) in a highly quantitative field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, Operations Research, etc) or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience:
- Fluency with at least one data science/analytics programming language (e.g. Python, R, Julia).
- Strong software design and implementation skills with a general-purpose programming language (e.g. Go, Rust, Scala, C++/C#, Java, etc).
- Hands-on experience with SQL and data analytics.
- Hands-on experience using high performance machine learning libraries and/or deep learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, Tensorflow, etc).
- Big pluses:
- Hands-on experience building ML driven products from inception to production.
- Researching & developing algorithms for search and/or dynamic content recommendations.
- AdTech exposure.
- Experience with Cloud ML Platforms (eg. DataBricks, AWS SageMaker) and mlflow.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to a wide spectrum of cross-functional team members.
